The Tournament still in dilemma
Quebec, September 9, 2021 - The Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament was to announce on September 1 whether or not the 2022 edition would take place. The organization cannot yet provide an answer.
Still decisions to make
Four elements had to be confirmed before the organization of the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament could confirm its happening. The return of full team hockey, a decision made by Public Health on September 4, financial support to cover the financial losses related to the limit of 7,500 spectators at the Videotron Center and the costs related in compliance with health standards, the vaccination passport for volunteers and finally the non-vaccination of 11-year-old players.
Many were aware that an important meeting with various government bodies took place this afternoon. The Tournament organization has obtained the information it needs, but following the responses, an urgent special Board of Directors meeting will have to be held in the coming days in order to make important decisions regarding the 2022 edition.
Press briefing next week
We are therefore currently unable to confirm whether or not the Tournament will take place in February. We will be holding a press conference to make the announcement sometime next week. Stay tuned.
