Our rewarded volunteers
Last Saturday, November 7, the traditional closing evening aimed at rewarding all the volunteers who gave of their time during the 2020 tournament was to be held. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, this evening, where more than 800 people were to gather for celebrating and remembering good memories, could not take place.
Therefore, during these times of Covid-19, the organization had to be creative and try to find a way to please its team, without assembling. It is thanks to superb partnerships with Janes and IGA, loyal sponsors of the Tournament, that a great project has emerged. We have indeed decided to send a surprise package by mail to EACH of our 800 volunteers. Inside each package were:
-2 masks with the colors of the Pee-Wee Tournament
-50$ of Janes and Mastro San Daniele products
-A 10$ IGA gift card
In order to launch the project and create an even more interesting surprise effect, some members of the Tournament organization, our mascot Champ-Pee and Michael Molloy, representative of Janes, crisscrossed Quebec City last Saturday. They went, without warning, knocking on the doors of a few volunteers in order to hand them the gift. The ten lucky ones who received our visit were more than surprised to see us there. Everyone raised the point that the Tournament really cares about its volunteers, comments that touched us deeply. The visits were conducted according to the rules, in order to respect the necessary physical distancing.
We would like to once again acknowledge the hard work and dedication of all our volunteers, regardless of their committee or their role within the Tournament. It is thanks to you that the event can take place, thanks to you if the experience of young and old is so enriching. See you next year.
