A STRONG COME BACK FOR THE PEE-WEE TOURNAMENT

Quebec City, March 29, 2022 – The Quebec International Hockey Pee-Wee Tournament is more than happy to unveil today the essentials of its long-awaited 62nd edition. After a year's absence, the Tournament will finally be back under a new formula over 15 days offering the SNOFest Pee-Wee, autograph sessions with great hockey stars, a special mascots day, 2 distinct finals days and several animations.

130 teams from 13 different countries

For the very first time, the Pee-Wee Tournament will not receive 120 teams, but 130! Of these 130 teams, 24 will evolve in category A, a novelty this year. We are also proud to reveal that despite the pandemic, 13 countries will be represented: Austria, Canada, United States, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Japan, Republic Czech, Romania, Slovakia and Switzerland. Find the complete list of participating teams by country in the press kit and on our website.

A different schedule for 2022

This year, 186 games will take place at the Videotron Center and the Pavillon de la Jeunesse, over 15 days rather than 12 days as usual. The AA-Elite, AA and A categories will play their games from May 1 to 8, while the AAA, BB and School will play from May 9 to 15. We will therefore be entitled to 2 days of finals, on Sundays May 8 and 15. Building the schedule has been a real headache this year given the move of the tournament from February to May, a tournament having to fit together through shows and others. By consulting the schedule, you will see that on May 1st, all games will take place at the Pavillon de la Jeunesse due to the Imagine Dragons show taking place at the Videotron Center. The Tournament will also take a day off at the Videotron Center on May 6 for the Avril Lavigne show as well as on May 5,7,12 and 15 in the evening for the Quebec Remparts games.

Outdoor Fan Fest and Pee-Wee Beer

Tournament in May says milder weather, says outdoor event! We are happy to announce that we will be holding the “SNOFest Pee-Wee” presented by SNO from May 5 to 8 and from May 12 to 15 at Place Jean-Béliveau. On site: huge tent where refreshments will be served, DJ or singer at all times, mini-hockey, games area for youngsters, food trucks, and much more! It will be the perfect place to gather before or after the games and enjoy a festive atmosphere. A Pee-Wee beer was even brewed by the SNO's brewers and will be served on site for the occasion. It will also be on sale at IGA shortly.

Autograph sessions with hockey stars

True to our habits, we will have the pleasure of welcoming stars for autograph sessions. We are currently in discussions with hockey players and well-known public figures. We would like to tell you more, but cannot announce anything at this time. We will let you know as soon as everything is confirmed! Stay tuned.

Presence of more than 20 NHL players

More than 20 players and former NHL players will be present at the Tournament as coaches, parents or accompanists. The complete list including their name and their relationship with the team can be found in the press kit and on our website.

Mascot Day and Grandparents Wednesdays

On Saturday, May 7, we will receive, to our delight, a dozen mascots for Mascot Day. A perfect day for making beautiful family encounters. Wednesdays May 4 and 11 will be reserved for Grandparents Days. Do you have hockey-loving grandchildren? Pick them up on Wednesdays and bring them to the Pee-Wee Tournament. With the purchase of an adult ticket, grandchildren will enter the Videotron Center for free! PLUS, the first 100 grandparents arriving with their grandchildren will be treated to a surprise upon arrival.

Join us from May 1 to 15
